Alena’s Look:

Yesterday, Alena turned 10! I shared photos from her double digit photo shoot, and they came out so darling… make sure you check out that post!!
Saturday afternoon, we celebrated Alena’s 10th birthday. Her party took place at Doughocracy Pizza in Geneva, IL. Alena wanted to have lunch with friends and then go get frozen yogurt… so we did just that! Doughocracy Pizza was a great place for a kid’s party, and I’m happy they hosted us. The pizza is amazing, and Alena and her friends loved watching the pizzas being made on the spot.
After everyone ate, we had cupcakes… I baked the cupcakes for Alena’s party. Don’t they look professional AF? :o) The cupcakes are maraschino cherry, and I shared the cake and frosting recipe in a post last year, check out the recipe here! After her birthday wish and cupcakes, Alena opened presents. She got a lot of really cute things that a 10-year old girl would love like hair beads, hair chalk, a science kit, jewelry making kits, and so many more age appropriate gifts! Finally, even though it was in the low 50s° out, Alena and her friends still wanted to go for frozen yogurt.
Her birthday celebration was awesome, and the best part was Alena telling me, “my party was really fun!” What more can a mom ask for?
Oh, and I guess I should mention that my birthday is today… celebrated with dinner in the city Saturday night, and going to see the new Batman vs. Superman movie on IMAX this Friday with a huge group friends. I’m 27… so not making that huge of a huge deal about my birthday. Lol!
