Behind the Scenes: Novelstyle Shop Photoshoot
{Driving into the city, ripped jeans and an iced latte in tow, for the Novelstyle photo shoot!}
In yesterday’s post, I promised to detail the modeling photo shoot that I was able to participate in on Saturday. The photo shoot was for an online boutique called Novelstyle. This boutique is owned by Ileana from Novelstyle blog. I first had the opportunity to connect with Ileana back in January when she reached out to me to feature an item from her shop, which I did, wearing this blouse.
Shortly after that post, Ileana let me know that she was coming to Chicago in March to do a photo shoot of the Novelstyle shop’s spring and summer collection. She asked if I would be interested in modeling along with other Chicago, fashion bloggers, and I thought it sounded like a cool opportunity, so I agreed.
{Picked out my 3 outfits for the shoot!}

I am so happy I agreed to this modeling shoot, because not only is Ileana awesome in person, but I had the opportunity to meet a few other awesome Chicago, fashion bloggers including: Christina from A Sentimental Adventure, Kristen from Chic Little Secret, and Rachel from RD’s Obsessions.
The day was awesome! We all met at a space that Ileana rented in Wicker Park. When I arrived, Christina was getting her hair styled; and Kristen and Rachel arrived thereafter. We all had time to meet, chat about our experiences with fashion blogging, and we were able to select 3 outfits to wear for the shoot. As we got dolled up and took turns in between photo shooting sessions, it was a blast chatting and getting to know all the girls. (Sorry that some of the images aren’t the clearest, many of them were quick snaps using my phone… that being stated, click to add me on Snapchat: prettyperfect89!)
A particularly cool moment for me was getting my makeup done by a professional artist. On the day to day, I don’t wear makeup. When I do put on makeup, it’s minimal: eyeliner, eyeshadow, and lipstick only. I don’t even own mascara or any kind of foundation or concealer! So getting to have my makeup done, like full makeup, contouring and lashes included, was exciting!
The photographer, Mackenzie, was really friendly and I was surprised at how at ease I felt during the shoots. Us models were all photographed in our outfits individually, and then we also took some photos together as a group… and we had a lot of smiles and laughs during the fun!
After the shoot, I met my friend Sara for a night out in River North. Christina joined us, along with her husband and some of their friends, too! I’m super thrilled to have had the experience to model for the Novelstyle shop’s upcoming collections. I cannot wait to see how the photos turn out, and I’m grateful to have made some new blogger friends in Chicago!
With Style & Love,
♥
