Happy Memorial Day! I hope you have all enjoyed the long weekend. Mine has been great! On Friday, David scooped up Alena and I so we could take a day trip into Chicago. It rained throughout the day, but we were lucky and were able to go to every spot on our “agenda” without getting caught in the rainstorms. First, we went to the American Girl Store, so Alena could get her doll ready for summer. Then we stopped at Navy Pier to ride the brand new Centennial Ferris Wheel. It was the wheel’s grand opening, and we were among the first to take a ride. We rounded out our day trip with a late lunch in Wicker Park for Mexican food at Big Star, and then a stop at Stan’s Donuts to enjoy some afternoon treats!

David and I have been dating for a little over 3 months, and this was the first time we included Alena in an entire day of our plans. It was really sweet. Saturday, the three of us spent more time together as we took Alena to Studio Movie Grill to see Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass (it was okay, the first one is better). Alena is the most important person in my life, and David means a lot to me, so I’m grateful to have spent a lot of the weekend together with the two of them… If you are one of the many who follow my Snapchat (prettyperfect89) you got to see a lot of realtime snaps from the weekend.
